Hotel Vecrīga

In the very centre of Old City in a narrow street called Gleznotaju (in translation: the street of Painters) is located one of the coziest Riga hotels – Vecriga (in translation: Old Riga). Construction of the building began in the 15th century. It was rebuilt at various times, the last time the building was restructured in 1768 and since then it stayed the same until our days. After it has been reconstructed in 1999 here was opened a hotel with 14 rooms. From then onwards the hotel has been enjoying popularity among guests. In 2001 His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama stayed in this hotel.
