Antonio Vivaldi: Orlando Furioso
The Early Music Festival will invite the public the first night performance of "Orlando Furioso" - the lost opera by Antonio Vivaldi, which came to be unearthed in 2012.
Created in 1727 and not found until 270 years after the death of its author, the opera will be performed by the Latvian Radio Choir and baroque orchestra and ensemble "Collegium 1704" from the Czech Republic.
The Early Music Festival provides an opportunity to sample the feel of Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. Festival concerts are given in churches and concert halls of Old Riga. The Festival traditionally reaches climax with a performance in the most magnificent Latvian Baroque castle in Rundāle.
Splendid costumes of olden days, early instruments, authentic performance and fireworks.
