Astronomical spring starts in Latvia on March 20

On March 20 at 1:21 a.m., astronomical spring has begun in Latvia, LETA was informed by the University of Latvia's Astronomy Institute.

Today, day and night are of similar length, and from tomorrow the days will gradually start to become longer than nights.

Each year the time of the beginning of astronomical spring is slightly different because of the time counting system.

The astronomical summer this year will begin at 8:16 p.m. on June 21.
