Ancient and contemporary grain processing will be featured.
At the museum’s Vidzeme Homestead, the focus will be on threshing and grinding grain as in olden days. A sandwich-making workshop will be open, and Vidzeme porridge will be prepared and sampled. Song and dance will keep things festive, courtesy of the folklore ensemble "Dandari".
Zemgale Homestead will proudly present its foods like their own version of the doughnuts, while in Priede’s Tavern, make and taste-test pancakes, and , of course – bread. Loaves made by local bakers and enterprisers will be on sale.
Breadmaking will be celebrated in Kurzeme Homestead as well, and for entertainment the, join the ancient ritual of rhymes and games.
