First migratory birds of season return to Latvia

The first migratory birds have returned to Latvia, LETA was informed by administrators from the Latvian bird portalĀ www.latvijasputni.lv.

The first migratory birds have returned to Latvia, LETA was informed by administrators from the Latvian bird portal www.latvijasputni.lv.

Migrating skylarks were noticed yesterday around Liepaja (southwestern Latvia) and Saulkrasti (north-central Latvia), whilst flocks of whooper swans were seen in Kurzeme Province (western Latvia).

Last spring, the first migratory birds of the season were noticed on February 25.

With the coming of spring, migratory birds will be gradually returning to Latvia in upcoming weeks.
