Hotel occupancy increased in May

There was been an increase in hotel occupancy in Latvia this past May, when compared to the same month last year, according to information from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

There was been an increase in hotel occupancy in Latvia this past May, when compared to the same month last year, according to information from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

The room occupancy rate increased from 40.7 percent in May 2011, to 43 percent this past May. In Riga, the occupancy rate increased from 51.9 percent to 54.3 percent.

This data from the CSB only includes occupancy rates in hotels throughout Latvia, and excludes such accommodation establishments as guest houses, motels, camping areas, bed and breakfasts etc.

Data was received from over 200 hotels throughout Latvia, as well as approximately 100 hotels in Riga.
