LNO to guest at Moscow Bolshoi with two productions

Four evenings February 7-10, the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow will sparkle with two guest productions from Riga - the National Opera (LNO) company is readying its "Yevgeny Onegin" and "Lucia di Lammermoor".

Four evenings February 7-10, the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow will sparkle with two guest productions from Riga - the National Opera (LNO) company is readying its "Yevgeny Onegin" and "Lucia di Lammermoor".

As LNO's chief (and director of both productions), Andrejs Zagars, commented: "With utmost pleasure, we welcome the opportunity to meet again with the intelligent Bolshoi audiences. And we are proud to be a cooperation partner alongside such prestigious companies as the "Metropolitan", "La Scala", "Covent Garden".

This time out, the Russians are in for a treat as the magnificent Kristine Opolais, fresh from her "Met" debut, will sing Tatyana, and the equally electrifying Sonora Vaice will be Lucia.
