The millionth visitor will be greeted at the museum and will be given an individual tour of the museum's exhibitions.
Since the museum was established in 1993, over 999,000 people have visited it.
During the past several years, the number of persons visiting the museum has increased from several hundred to over 100,000 visitors per year. This confirms the museum's importance of popularity within Latvian society.
Since 1998, when the museum was included in state protocol, over 594 foreign politicians, diplomats and officials have visited the museum.
Some of those who have visited the museum include Great Britain's Prince Charles, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, Queen Elizabeth II, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and many others.
