Latvia held its 8th annual Night of Museums last night, with 133 nationwide staying open till the wee hours.

In Riga, for example, the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia registered 10,080 visitors, albeit less than last year, but still a significant number. There were many foreign tourists and families with children; later - teenagers and adults.

Another traditionally popular museum, the Riga Motor (Automobile) Museum, counted 600 more visitors than last year at 13,000.

The total last night for the also popular Paul Stradins Museum of History of Medicine was 8,579.
