Organizers want Dome Square for "New Wave"

LETA has learned from sources that Russian composer Igor Krutoy, organizer of the annual "New Wave" pop music contest/festival in Jurmala, has met with municipal leaders in Riga to discuss the possibility of holding this summer's festival on Dome Square in Old Town.

LETA has learned from sources that Russian composer Igor Krutoy, organizer of the annual "New Wave" pop music contest/festival in Jurmala, has met with municipal leaders in Riga to discuss the possibility of holding this summer's festival on Dome Square in Old Town.

Mayor Nils Usakovs said that there had been no official offer made yet, therefore he cannot comment. He did admit that the city council will do "everything possible for the festival to happen in Riga."
