The gardens feature many types of roses, which are arranged chronologically, thematically and decoratively throughout.
The Rundale Palace’s rose gardens are set in 9,000 square meters of territory, with over 20,000 roses in bloom.
The roses are arranged to tell the story of the roses grown at the palace’s gardens throughout different periods of time.
The rose gardens themselves sometime take so much care and time, that even soldiers from the Latvian National Armed Forces are occasionally called in to assist with its upkeep.
