A "Nozare.lv" survey of tourism sector and catering professionals reveals that couples select various SPA treatments and a romantic, often candlelight, dinner in a restaurant on February 14 - Valentine's Day.

Dace Micule, from the "Averoja" Travel Agency, informed that her firm offers special recreation/relaxation options, like an overnight stay in a SPA hotel complete with a romantic dinner. Also - an all-night celebration for lovers aboard the "Tallink" ferry ship to Stockholm.

Asnate Ziemele from the rural travel association "Lauku celotajs" pointed out that guest houses, manors and lodges in all of Latvia offer something special on Valentine's Day with festive decorations and creation of romantic atmosphere. Certainly the most popular are SPA treatments and dinner for two, she said.

"Hotel Bergs" Chef Janis Klavins reported that his restaurant every year has a much greater number of customers on Valentine's Day, and he in turn has a special menu ready.

"Hotel Jurmala SPA's" Kristine Stala noted that since February 14 is a work day, most couples will enjoy treatment and a romantic dinner without staying overnight. The restaurant will feature live music, she informed.
