State Choir "Latvija" to perform at Zirgu Iela Concert Hall

One of the best Latvian ensembles, the internationally-acclaimed State Choir "Latvija" and conductor Māris Sirmais are inviting the public to the concert "Woman's Word" (Sievietes vārds) at the Zirgu Iela Concert Hall on March 8 at 7 p.m.

One of the best Latvian ensembles, the internationally-acclaimed State Choir "Latvija" and conductor Māris Sirmais are inviting the public to the concert "Woman's Word" (Sievietes vārds) at the Zirgu Iela Concert Hall on March 8 at 7 p.m.

The first part of the concert programme includes choir songs composed by Latvian composers Imants Kalniņš, Raimonds Pauls, Marģeris Zariņš, Romualds Kalsons, Pēteris Plakidis with lyrics by Imants Ziedonis.

The other part of the concert features ensemble "Brokastis četratā" (Breakfast for Four) and singer Aija Vītoliņa presenting their jazz and world music arrangements of  opera music by George Frideric Handel, Gioachino Rossini, Georges Bizet, Astor Piazzolla and more.

Woman is the main theme of all compositions performed at the concert, and the entire concert is meant as congratulation on the International Women's Day.

Zirgu Iela Concert Hall is located at 11a Kaļķu Street, entrance from Zirgu Street.
