"Tallink" buys new ferry for Riga-Stockholm route

"Hansalink Limited", a subsidiary of the Estonian shipping company "Tallink Grupp", and Finnish shipping company "Viking Line ABP" came to an agreement on the purchase of "M/S Isabella".

The transaction and the delivery of the vessel is scheduled to be completed by the end of April.

"Tallink" told the Tallinn Stock Exchange that, with its increased passenger and vehicle capacity, the new ferry will replace "M/S Silja Festival" on the Riga-Stockholm route. The transaction will amount to EUR 30 million (LVL 21.1 million.

"Viking Line" said in a press release that the sale of "M/S Isabella" is part of "Viking Line’s" long-term strategy.

"M/S Isabella" operated the Turku-Stockholm route until "Viking Grace" replaced it in January 2013.
