Tourist numbers in Riga could reach 1.5 million this year

Riga Deputy Mayor Andris Ameriks told LETA today that he expects at least 1.5 million tourists in the city this year, mentioning that if the port welcomed 70 cruise ships last year, then 90 are awaited this year. Many more people are now arriving by bus, he also pointed out.

Ameriks also mentioned steps to ease issuance of visas.

Another positive point - now there is a joint unit, i.e. agency, and a joint portal - "Live Riga", which has certainly paid off, said Ameriks.
