    On April 19, marking annual Record Store Day, a number of noted musicians will perform „unplugged” – balladeer Alise Joste, and the groups Momend, Bērnības Milicija, Pyro Trees, Dust Devil Drive, Indygo and The Coco'nuts.
  • Chamber ensemble performs Arnold Schoenberg’s "Pierrot Lunaire, op.21"
    A rare gem is scheduled to be performed in Riga’s "Arsenals" Exhibition Hall April 19th (18.00), and seating is limited. An outstanding lineup of musicians tackles the groundbreaking (in its time) composition-theater piece (called a "melodrama"), created in 1912. "Pierrot Lunaire, op.21"  by the Austrian Arnold Schoenberg is considered the forerunner of Expressionism in music.

  • Exhibition presents Riga as a city where elderly citizens can lead respectable lives
    Exhibition “Old Age”, part of the European Capital of Culture Programme of Riga, opens at 6/1 Zigfrīda Annas Meirovica Boulevard on April 5, introducing a conceptual urban environment design and offering visitors a chance to feel what it is like to be a senior. The exhibition will also feature thematic events for elderly citizens and young people.
  • American dancer-choreographer Michelle Boulé to perform in Riga
    April  3 at 19.00 in Gertrudes Street Theatre, don’t miss the American dancer-choreographer Michelle Boulé  (New York) performing a solo piece called “Wonder”. In addition, she will conduct master classes for students and professionals.
  • Latvian Pavilion at 55th Venice Biennale returns to Riga

    The Riga version of Latvia’s pavilion at the 55th International Venice Biennale will be on show at the “kim?” contemporary art centre from March 27 to April 25. The exhibition encompasses Kaspars Podnieks’ photographs from the series “Rommel’s Dairy” along with the supporting soundtrack and Krišs Salmanis’ installation – a motorized animation of the “moving tree” showcased at the Venice Biennial.
