  • During Riga City Festival, Spīķeri Square to feature eatery with best restaurants and chefs
    15 of Riga’s best and most popular restaurants and their chefs are part of a joint project opening August 16, called the „Rīgas svētku restorāns”. The project  (on Spīķeri Square near the Central Market) will highlight the cooking brilliance of such well-knowns as Mārtiņš Rītiņš, Mārtiņš Sirmais, Ingmārs Ladigs, Māris Astičs, Valters Zirdziņš, and others.
  • August to bring „Tel-Aviv Beach” Festival
    A festival devoted to Israeli culture will grace Riga August 1-3, and it will feature  opportunities to become more familiar with music, dance, fashion, sports, tourism, business and cuisine. The „Tel-Aviv Beach” Festival/„Telavivas pludmale Rīgā” is free of charge.  
  • Origami Festival under way in Riga
    June 27 to July 19 in the Pardaugava area, be sure to take time to tour the unique exhibition of  outdoor  art objects made from paper, which make up the Origami Festival. Nine are on display, created by Japanese, Turkish and Latvian artists.
  • Renowned Randy Brecker (trumpet) live in Riga
    World famous jazz and pop musician Randy Brecker will grab the spotlight at the „Rīgas Ritmi 2014” Festival on July 2nd in Congress Centre, appearing with the Latvian Radio Big Band.
  • Kalnciema Quarter to mark Summer Solstice
    The astronomical occurence known as Summer Solstice - June 21 – will be a special day for Riga’s Kalnciema Quarter as the traditional Herbs and Greenery Fair gathers vendors from all parts of Latvia with a wide variety of wares and foodstuffs, primarily focusing on that what is necessary for the upcoming holiday.
  • International dog shows to be held in Ķīpsala Exhibition Centre this weekend

    On June 7 and 8, the International Exhibition Centre in Ķīpsala, Riga, will host two dog shows: “Crufts Riga 2014” and “Riga Cup 2014”, bringing together more than 2,300 dogs in a variety of breeds from a total of eleven countries.
  • Night of Churches to be held June 6
    At the stroke of 18.00, 42 houses of worship in Riga will open their doors, and remain open until at least midnight, offering a diverse cultural programme, primarily musical with accent on the pipe organ. Also planned - sand animation, guided tours of churches led by clergymen themselves, and prayer sessions, to name just a few of the events.
  • Rhododendron plantation at Babīte comes alive
    Celebrating blossom time for the variously colored shrub, the LU Rhododendron Selection and Experimental Plantation „Babīte” on May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. will hold a special event where the LU Women’s Choir „Latve” and the Talsi Community Center Folk Dance Group Seniors  „Draudzība” will perform.
  • British electronic music duo "Mount Kimbie" to perform in Riga

    The "Mount Kimbie" concert is one of the first events in preparations of the annual alternative electronic music festival "Satta". For its eighth edition, the festival will move to Latvia and take place in Pape from August 14 to August 17.
  • Miera Street Festival coming up
    On May 24, the hip Miera Street arts quarter in Riga will hold its third annual “Summer Festival on Miera Street”, and a special programme has been prepared for the entire day.
