The critically acclaimed dream pop band The xx have been added to the Positivus festival 2013 line-up as the second headliners of the festival. Other confirmed acts include the explosive Canadian duo Crystal Castles, the melodic Foxes, the Danish indie rockers Efterklang, the instrumental Elektro Guzzi as well as the Latvian cult rock band Jauns Mēness. The previously announced headliner are Sigur Rós.

The Latvian movie ''Dream Team 1935'' (''Sapnu Komanda 1935''), which is about the Latvian basketball team which became the first ever European champions that year, has transformed Lithuanians, at least for two hours, into Latvian basketball fans, the Lithuanian news portal ''Delfi.lt'' writes in its movie review after the Latvian movie had its premiere in Lithuania.

During the Grand Music Award 2012 ceremony at the Latvian National Opera last night, accordionist Ksenija Sidorova received the "Outstanding Performance" award for performing solo in Erki Sven Tuur's opus "Prophecy" at the Great Guild Hall on May 31 and a solo concert at the Spikeri Concert Hall on November 23 last year.
