AB Jetty (AB dambis)

AB Jetty (Latvian: AB dambis) was built in the Daugava 1886-87 with the purpose of narrowing the river’s bed, and for the purposes of a port. Located at Klīversala Island next to Akmens Bridge, its monogram comes from the original three leftbank jetties or dams – AB, CDE and FG.

Today, AB is bolstered with concrete, and at the end of its walkway/driveway/bike path, there is a multi-functional square with a playground for children, fitness apparatuses for adults, and a splendid scenic view for all.

Summertime is the best time on the jetty, as a variety of events are held, like the Sand Sculpture Festival and outdoor movie showings.

Just minutes from downtown Riga, AB is a perfect place for relaxation, offerng a superb view of the Old Town skyline, so don’t forget your camera!
