"Arēna Rīga" is a mult-functional sports and entertainment facility, built in 2006 when Riga hosted the IIHF World Championship. Its forte is basketball and hockey games, with full capacity – for concerts, at 14,500.
Speaking of concerts, "Arēna Rīga" has seen the likes of Nick Cave, Kylie Minogue, Ozzy Osbourne, Sting, Placebo, Muse, Depeche Mode, to name just a handful. Acts like these bring in scores of fans from neighbour-countries as well.
"Arēna Rīga" is home to the Kontinental Hockey League’s Riga "Dinamo" club and also to the national team, proving every game the undying interest the populace has for this particular sport, and the simple truth, that our fans are simply the best!
