Country house "Donas"

The country house “Donas” offers watching the kneading and scalding of bread dough, shaping loafs and putting them in the bread oven. You can also make your own bread loaf and taste it right after taking out of the oven with milk and honey or bring as a treat for your family.

In the place where the country house “Donas” is standing now a stone boulder house was built in 1895, initially intended as a stable, but turned into the famous at that time Blome bakery in 1975, baking one of the tastiest bread in Latvia.
Baking was stopped in 2001 and after that the building was empty and unmanaged. Despite the rather sad condition of the building the current owners of the country house "Donas" felt the good aura of the building and decided to move here and revive the bread baking traditions.

Alongside the bread baking program, visitors are also offered other activities. For instance, in the autumn you can visit Pippy Longstocking, work in the dwarf-lead gingerbread workshop around Christmas time and colour eggs together with bunnies around Easter.
