Dobele Local History Museum

The Dobele Museum of Local History was set up in 1985. The museum works to research and promote the history of the town and district of Dobele, to preserve its historical legacy and the memory of notable fellow countrymen. The holdings contain over 20 thousand units – household objects, photographs, documents, books, archeological finds, printed matter and art objects.  The museum displays themed exhibitions on regular basis. There is also a permanent exhibition on the history of Dobele, titled "Once in Dobele..." Besides, visitors can use the museum's book depository containing over three thousand books on various subjects.
