The records mentioning the Jaunlaicene Manor date back to the early 18th century. For 170 years, the manor was home to the family of Baron von Wolf. Johann Gottlieb II kept the estate as a comfortable family home without excessive luxury. Jaunlaicene used to host numerous visitors, and the house was therefore built out quite spacious in order to accommodate the many guests.
The former estate manager's cottage now is home to the Jaunlaicene Museum charged with the mission of collecting, preserving, studying and promoting, through positive emotions, the distinctive historic and cultural heritage of the Jaunlaicene Manor and the Opekalns congregation.
We offer our visitors to enjoy the activities and walks in the park (treasure quest, a folks song maze), to see exhibitions and the permanent exposition, to try their hand in our creative souvenir-making workshops.
We invite you to visit the museum for the annual Museum Night events in May and the Manor Festival on the last Saturday in July.
