Jelgava exhibition of Latvian railwai history museum

The museum currently displays and exposition featuring a semaphore, couplings, rail inspection cars, locomotive wheel pairs, a water crane, a railway crossing barrier, a switch operator's log cabin.

Museum exposition

The museum's exposition traces the history of the Jelgava rail junction by displaying personal items of former railwaymen, photographs and objects – station benches and platform bells, ticket cabinets, railway workers' tools and track building materials, a station master's uniform, firefighting equipment, and parts of a steam engine.

The sources of the Jelgava Railway Museum date back to 24 December 1982, when a public museum of the military and labour glory was opened on the premises of the Jelgava Railwaymen's Culture Centre.

In 1991, the Railway Museum was moved to a former railwaymen's residential house near the station.
