"Lielkrūzes" Farm

The "Lielkrūzes" eco-farm is a rural homestead in scenic surroundings; a sustainable place for research on interrelation between production and nature, based on ethnic tradition. An international organisation, "Environmental Association Krūzes", is being established here in order to preserve the traditional rural environment. The principles of traditional farming are being promoted through ecotourism.

In a natural environment, visitors can view wild bovines and horses, and a flock of sheep, as well as witness subsistence economy functioning on the farm. The waters in the nearby area are inhabited by crayfish and 10 different sorts of fish. Forests and fields are home to more than 70 species of birds. Visitors are guaranteed diverse recreation experiences. The farm has an open air stage for summer events. By a prior arrangement, Midsummer and other solstice and equinox celebrations can be held here. Sauna services are offered for smaller groups. The farm is a good venue for company sporting events. We offer 12 beds in log huts; extra 40 beds are available on demand.
