Mežaparks Open-air stage

The huge Grand Stage outdoor concert venue at Rīga-Mežaparks  (opened 1955), notwithstanding remodelling and renovation through the years, has always been and remains synonymous with the Latvian cultural and national identity, as exemplified by the Song Festival, the Re-awakening and the "Singing Revolution".

With five-year intervals, the Mežaparks Open-air stage hosts the All-Latvian Song and Dance Festival, and in the interim – the Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival. Both major events gather thousands of participants and thousands of concertgoers.

Located in the city’s "green zone", the Grand Stage has significant historical value as it has been a favourite arts and entertainment site for multiple years with solid festival/major concert traditions.
