The trip usually lasts for an hour, but it is also possible to hire the vessel for a longer period. It takes three hours to get to Staburags and back, but a trip to Koknese requires about five hours.
The offer for the winter season includes sleigh rides. There are two routes to choose from – over snow‑clad meadows along the bank of the Daugava, and over the frozen Daugava. The length of the trip is 30 minutes.
The boat is moored next to a tourism information centre where tickets and souvenirs can be bought and information found not only about the viking boat but also about other sights to see in Pļaviņas District and Latvia. The "Liepkalni" bakery offers its delicious pastry and cakes.
