During the shipping season a small boat "Hercogs Jēkabs" departs from the pier every day taking tourists on a ride along the river Venta. This is a really excellent opportunity to watch the city of Ventspils, Ventspils free port as well as the sea gate.
Boat rides may be cancelled and the scheduled departure times may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances, strong wind or mist.
