The Randu Meadows

The Randu Meadows is a nature reserve covering the area of Vidzeme seaside from Ainazi till Kuivizi.Here the 200 ha area is home to one third of Latvian plant species or approximately 600 species, including 37 species that are rare and endangered in Latvia and other European countries.

The Randu Meadows is also an internationally acclaimed bird migration and nesting ground.A trail and bird observation tower was opened in 2006.The absolute Latvian record of observed bird species was set the same year – 114.
