"Riekstiņi" - museum of Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš

The childhood house (1880–1886) of writer and painter Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš (1877–1962). The museum located in the farmstead "Riekstiņi" was opened in 1967. Its 19th century look has been preserved in "Riekstiņi", reminiscent of Our House world depicted in "The White Book".

The exhibition commemorating J. Jaunsudrabiņš consists of his personal belongings, photographs, books and paintings, as well as other household artifacts of the 19th-20th century.

Other sites of interest in the museum vicinity: Ķišku graveyard (2,5 km) – the graveyard of J. Jaunsudrabiņš and Saknīši families, J. Jaunsudrabiņš monument in Nereta (7 km), and Pilkalne Manor (12 km).
