Stikli marsh nature trail

To be able to learn more about the marsh and the life of its inhabitants, a footbridge has been set up in one of the Stikli marshes - Vasenieki marsh.Visitors can both see the degraded part of the marsh by walking along the land reclamation ditch and compare it with the lively natural part of the marsh. The length of the route is 4 km.

The footbridge in Vasenieki marsh was set up to introduce the visitors with one of the most beautiful habitats in Latvia – moss or high marsh. The trail is located in the nature reserve of Stikli marsh. The footbridge winds both along beautiful marsh lakes, the plants and animals living in the marsh and the degraded part of the marsh. It is possible to climb the bird watching tower in the middle of the footbridge.Stikli marsh is located in Kursa lowland in Ugale plain in the regions of Ventspils and Talsi. The footbridge was built within the framework of the LIFE Nature project "Implementation of the marsh biotope protection plan" realized by the Latvian Fund for Nature.
