Some of the most beautiful places of Sigulda are located outside the town centre. Just like the Turaida Castle overlooking the Gauja Primeval Valley and the Devil’s Cave. However, those places are easily accessible by bike, as there are special bicycle routes and paths. A noteworthy tourism centre in the Gauja National Park is Līgatne with its nature trails, where you can see both a lynx and a bear (good thing they are behind the fence), paper mill, cellar caves and the only functioning ferry across the Gauja River, carrying over not only bicycles, but also cars.
