Sigulda (Tour de LatEst)

Sigulda is a special place in Latvia – it is called both the capital of tourism and the Switzerland of Vidzeme. It is also the centre of the Gauja National Park. It is no wonder the bicycle route “Tour de LatEst” begins and ends in Sigulda. Although the route goes along the left bank of the Gauja River, you should cross the deep Valley, because a number of the most interesting objects are located on the side of Turaida. There is a railway line connecting Rīga and Sigulda, and for that reason this is a great place to start a bicycle tour. And, of course, do not leave without the traditional Sigulda walking stick!
