Many internationalcompetitions have taken place in the world over the previous 25 years, but already at the beginning of 2014, Riga will experience afantastic show and a championship at the same time.

For three days, teams from 12 counties ¾the USA, Australia, Estonia, Russia, Latvia, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, as well as Sweden will form up to 6 meters high wood constructions that will be set on fire at the day of the championship and the jury will decide, which of theparticipants will be recognised as the world champion.

Moscow male choir "Pravoslavniye Pevchiye" (Orthodox Singers) was established in 1992, uniting the best professional singers from the Moscow church choirs. In Russia, where there is no shortage of outstanding choirs, it has deserved to be considered the best choir, which continues singing deacon choir tradition that exists in Russia since the 16th century.

The repertoire of the choir includes sacred Russian choral music since its beginnings until the 20th century with a special emphasis on the pre-revolutionary music of composers of the Moscow school, including ¾compositions by Alexander Kastalsky, Pavel Chesnokov, and Alexander Gretchaninov.

Exhibition "Underground" is based on a group of artists visiting Riga to continue what was started by the group in the exhibition at kim? in 2010, after travels and major exhibition projects in Europe and other parts of the world, including participation in Venice Biennale.

The specific character of the previous exhibition — its fragility and conceptual mode had a great impact on the local cultural environment, and minds of visitors and artists themselves.

Portrait gallery "Born in Riga — Famous Worldwide" at Cinema Splendid Palace is dedicated to the most outstanding and famous personalities born in Riga and now famous all over the world. Eight centuries in 30 minutes ¾guests of the city have anopportunity to get to know 810 years ancient history of Riga in a short and brilliant documentary film "Rīgas stāsts" ("Riga Story") that is screened at the oldest and most splendid Northern European cinema "Splendid Palace".

The film is created as an exciting reference material and stimulus for further sightseeing of cultural and historicalmonuments in Riga, encouraging to explore the brightest pages of the history of Riga and view the development of the city during the previous 800 years. On a daily basis, the film in English and Russian is being screened at the Vaulted Hall of the cinema "Splendid Palace".
