Riga Circus "The Fourth Dimension"
Starting 28 March, Riga Circus invites to the performances again on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This time it is a staging by circus artists from Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Latvia “The Fourth Dimension” – collaboration of the artists of different genres and phantasies from different faraway countries under a single roof, in a single circus arena.
Living in urban environment and agricultural territories, the relationship between people and animals fade. But it is so exciting to become familiar with different animals, especially for children.
The circus can ensure such opportunity and tell about the relationship between a man and an animal, and the trust among them.
One of the most important events of the new performance is return of trained circus elephants to Riga Circus. The duo of circus artists, Duo Soleva, has arrived from Switzerland together with their trainees of the weight of almost eight tons – 35 years old Saba from Africa and 30 years old Burma from Asia.
They demonstrate unbelievably nice mutual understanding and love of a man and an elephant. Owing to huge patience and power of will of a man, it is possible to achieve that an elephant perceives a man as somebody like it. In the performance of the artists, you will see how careful and cautious elephants can be; they will demonstrate again that their intellect is equal to their enormous strength. This attraction has a rich history of participation in festivals and success. It has been shown in Massi, Les Murex, Corsica (France), Prague (the Check Republic), Poland (Warsaw) and in many other places…
The unique group of equilibrists, MARKINI,is among the most vivid participants of the performance. For the performance “Equilibrists with Rola-Bola “Almost Seriously”” they have received Silver Award in Paris Festival 2012, Bronze Award in Monte Carlo Festival 2013, “Charlie Chaplin Gold Cup” in Montreal Festival 2013; for the performance “Equilibrists with Persh “Serious People”” they have received the title of record-holders in Cuba in 2011, Silver Award in China Festival 2012. The awards talk themselves!
The artists from Saint Petersburg, Alfija and Maksims MASLANOVI, are circus artists in the fifth generation. Eight excellent, trained cats perform together with the artists. These talented, but uncompromising four-legged friends of people always make happy both – adults and children. Moreover, Maksims Maslanovs is a great, skilful juggler.
The artists from our neighbour country Lithuania – brothers KUNDROTAS - are jugglers, too. Andrius, Povilas and Kastytis quite recently, in January, participated in the international festival “Golden Karl 2014” organized by Riga Circus with an original performance as the group of jugglers, and they became a surprise of the festival in a way.
And one more artist from Saint Petersburg – a very young person who has just started her professional carrier in circus – Jelizaveta REZNICHENKO. In her new programme, she will demonstrate her performances “Girl without Bones” and “Air Gymnast”. Although her professional carrier is very short, the girl has earned very many highest awards of different international circus festivals when participating in high-standard international competitions in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany and other countries.
We are happy to announce that the German artist - Clown KNOCK - will amuse the audience with a new repertoire in the breaks between the complicated circus performances.
Of course, the overall mood of the performance will be enriched by a trio of musicians to accompany the circus performance by “live” music and circus girls – dancers.
We look forward to see you! Our Riga Circus is a building in the very heart of Riga where a real CIRCUS dwells!
