Latvia’s Positivus festival darling King Charles will celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Palladium concert hall with a performance of majestic proportions! The extravagant musician, real name Charles Costa, is one of the most intriguing emerging alternative, indie and folk-rock representative of the British music scene. His debut album “Loveblood” (2012) was released in May.
Best known for his singles ”Bam Bam”, ”Love Lust” and ”Lady Percy”, King Charles is a natural when it comes to interacting with his audience; his music is dynamic, light hearted and genuinely sincere – all of which can be experienced during a live performance.
The talented artist gained widespread recognition in Latvia after his notorious performance at the 2011 Positivus festival, where he delivered an unparalleled guitar solo while situated on the metal side constructions of the stage. Cementing his fame at this year’s festival, King Charles not only delivered a marvellous performance, but also delighted his audience by exclaiming ”Es esmu karalis!” (I am king!) in fluent Latvian.
Since starting his musical career in 2007, King Charles has toured with Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale as well as Mumford and Sons, with whom he recorded the lyrical single ”The Brightest Lights”.
