The group of drummers was started in Japan, Nara, The land of Yamato, considered the cradle of Japanese culture, 17 years ago.Over the years the group has given thousands of performances and received adoration by both the critics and the audience.It has delighted the Latvian audience twice.
Yamatodrummers perform using tens of the traditional Japanese Wadaiko drums in various sizes, tones and sounds, mostly made of natural materials.The biggest ones – odaiko – are made of a huge, more than 400 years old tree.
The exciting performance, which combines the art of theatre, music, admirable sleight of hands and virtuosity, is supplemented by the artistic skills and sense of humour of the group members creating an unforgettable pleasure for both the eyes and ears! The concert surrounds the audience with a mosaic of various sounds resonating from the gentle touch of a rain drop till breathtaking explosions of exaltation.
