Gala Concert of Riga Tenso Days
The "Tenso Days" in Riga close with a spectacular concert in Riga Dome Cathedral on October 22.
The programme includes samples of French and Flemish polyphony from the Baroque era, Norwegian sacred folksongs, Pēteris Vasks and Arvo Part's music and new original compositions created in the Latvian Radio Choir's Sound Laboratory.
Performers: "Nederlands Kamerkoor" from the Netherlands, "Musicatreize" from France, "Det Norske Solistkor" from Norway, Latvian Radio Choir, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and soloists.
The Tenso Network Europe unites the European choirs since 2003. One of the four founders of the network and its driving force in terms of ideas is Latvian Radio Choir, which will host the international choir festival "Tenso Days in Riga" in October 2014, when Riga will become the capital of European professional choirs, organizing masterclasses for young composers, meetings of professionals, and concerts.
"Tenso Days in Riga" will see the Latvian Radio Choir and other leading European professional choirs offering programs to the audiences never presented before.
