#1 Jūrmala – close to the airport, close to Riga

The popular resort city Jūrmala stretches for 26 kilometers along the Gulf of Riga.

Jūrmala’s central section called Majori is usually full of people enjoying the sun and waves and restaurants along Jomas iela, the central pedestrian belt are full of happy foodies. The center of Jūrmala’s cultural life is Dzintari Concert Hall with an extensive concert and event programme.

#2 Picture perfect Jūrkalne Seashore Bluffs

The Jūrkalne Bluffs are one of the most picturesque parts of Latvia’s coastline with a quiet beach untouched by civilisation and bluffs of up to 20 metres high.

#3 Epic scenes and wildlife at Pape Nature Park

Pape Nature Park is home to a colony of wild horses and it’s a birdwatchers’ paradise. Marked trails run throughout the park providing access to areas of astonishing natural beauty.

#5 Pavilosta – surfers’ paradise

Every summer, surfers, kiters and other outdoor enthusiasts flock to the tiny town of Pavilosta. After a day of sports, nothing beats a portion of locally caught and freshly smoked fish!

 

#6 Liepāja – Latvia’s third largest city

With its pristine Blue Flag beach, market stalls offering the catch of the day and the local cod dish Liepājas menciņi on every menu, Liepaja is a favorite for memorable beach holidays.

#7 Cape Kolka where two seas meet

Cape Kolka is the point at which the Gulf of Riga meets the open Baltic Sea. In Spring, it’s particularly popular among birdwatchers. No matter the season, Cape Kolka is a spectacular spot for walks on the beach and to feel the crispness of the Baltic Sea air.

#8 The rocky beach in Vidzeme (North Latvia)
