01.09.2017

This is good news for everybody, but in particular for tourists who want to spend short holidays in Latvia and to attend, for example, opera or a restaurant to enjoy a gourmand dinner.

The national airline airBaltic has made an announcement to continue flights to Geneva in Switzerland, Tampere in Finland, and Gothenburg in Sweden also during the winter season.

“Direct flights to Geneva, Tampere, and Gothenburg were launched only this summer, yet passenger demand in these routes has been very high, serving as basis for continuing flights to these cities throughout the year,” a spokesperson of airBaltic explained.

This autumn and winter will bring along also several other pleasant surprises in the offer of airline airBaltic.

From 29 October, airBaltic in collaboration with an airline of the United Arab Emirates — Etihad Airways — will launch a flight route Riga-Abu Dhabi four times a week and the new Bombardier CS300 will be used in these flights for the convenience of passengers. At this point, this will be the best connection between the Baltic States and the United Arab Emirates which could be appealing both for businessmen and tourists interested in alternative tourism types.

Airline airBaltic makes a promise that this winter it will work on improving its services in routes to London, Hamburg, and Prague by increasing the flight frequency. A remarkably more convenient flight schedule for flights heading to Warsaw will be also ensured by scheduling new morning and evening flights.

In the first seven months of the year, the Latvian national airline airBaltic has transported 1,958,774 passengers and this is by 20 % more than the corresponding period last year. Moreover, in July 2017, the airline transported 393,312 passengers which is by 21 % more than last July.

airBaltic offers direct flights heading from Riga to 60 destinations.
