New magazine to attract MICE business to Latvia

From fantastic flight connections to an innovative business environment, there are numerous reasons why Latvia is becoming an increasingly popular choice for hosting international events.

The new “Latvia. Baltic Hub for Meetings and Start-Ups” online magazine aims to inform event planners about the opportunities to organise an event in Riga and outside the capital. With content based on stakeholder interviews, local tips and the editor’s personal experiences, the magazine gives authentic and detailed insights into Latvia.

By including an overview of Latvia’s start-up scene and industry events, the magazine also encourages to think outside the box and find ways in which the events industry can connect with local entrepreneurs and tap into existing knowledge pools.

Riga is the largest city in the Baltics yet compact enough to avoid lengthy transfers. Its architecture is a melange of medieval, Art Nouveau, wooden buildings, and other styles influenced by the many phases of Latvia’s history.

Event planners are recommended to consider options outside the capital, and host meetings or conferences in venues including museums and purpose-built concert venues in scenic locations close to nature.

With new hotel groups entering the market, such as Kempinski, Hilton Garden Inn, AC Hotel and Intercontinental, and others, such as the Radisson Group and Mogotel expanding operations, the number of beds and meeting rooms has grown and is expected to continue rising. Latvia is certainly a destination to keep an eye on.

"Latvia. Baltic Hub for Meetings and Start-Ups" is the second edition of a magazine dedicated to Latvia in the Experiential Destinations series produced by specialist publishers TMF Dialogue for the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, and MEET RĪGA – the city’s convention bureau.
