New route: Riga - Madrid

12.12.2016

Summer comes with good news from "airBaltic" - passengers' choices will become even wider.

Due to climate change or perhaps other reasons, the number of tourists from warm European countries in Latvia is increasing every year. To hear Spanish, Italian or French on the streets of Riga and elsewhere in our country has already become common.

We are glad to announce that on May 26th the national airline "airBaltic will start operating flights on a new route Riga - Madrid.

"A connection between the Latvian and Spanish capitals will offer new opportunities for both business and leisure travellers,'' says the airline's executive vice president Wolfgang Reuss.

The flights will take place three times a week, and will take 4 hours and 5 minutes. It should be noted that the flights will take place in the "Boeing 737" and the new "Bombardier" CS300 aircraft that has just been added to the airline's fleet, and offers much greater convenience than normally.  A one-way fare including airport fees and transaction costs starts at 75 EUR.

The new route will offer Latvia as an exciting destination, as well as provide convenient connections to destinations in the Baltic Sea region, the Nordic countries, Russia and CIS countries.

Spring and summer will also come with a number of great routes from our capital city: Riga - Odessa (from March 26th), Riga - Geneva (May 4th), Riga - Aberdeen (United Kingdom, from May 2nd), Riga - Stavanger (Norway, from May 2nd), Riga - Gothenburg (Sweden, from June 1st), Riga - Tampere (Finland, from March 26th) and Riga - Catania (Italy, May 4th).

"AirBaltic" provides direct flights from Riga to 60 destinations.
