"Positivus": very positive this year as well

13.04.2017

Not only us here in Latvia, but also our neighbours are well aware that summer without the music festival "Positivus" would not be a real summer.

"Positivus" is the secret treasure of the Baltic states, hidden away in the picturesque Latvian coastal town of Salacgrīva. Surrounded by idillic forests, to its thousands of visitors the retreat on the coast of the sea offers the music festival lasting for 3 days.

The festival is popular among the young people and will be held for the 11th time on July 14 - 16.

Every year musicians from across the whole world step unto the "Positivus" stages, providing to the audience music of various genres.

This summer their participation in the festival has been confirmed by American folk-rock stars "The Lumineers" and British veterans of alternative rock "Maximo Park". The beautiful coastal town, Salacgrīva, will host such personalities as Ellie Goulding, Alt-I, Rae Sremmurd, Kamasi Washington, L. A. Salami, Jose Gonzalez, etc.

"Positivus" stages are always open to the local musicians; and surely it may be said that suddenly brightly shining star "DaGamba" and classic rock bands "Dzelzs vilks" un "Pienvedēja piedzīvojumi" will not disappoint their listeners.

"Positivus" is well known for its free and relaxing atmosphere, and offers also exciting art and dance performances, thus ensuring a variety of options for the visitors of the festival.

With the sea right next door and the pine trees rustling in the wind, the visitors may enjoy a good night's sleep in their own or rented tents. As always, healthy food will be provided in the catering area.

Thus far, such artists as Muse, Iggy Pop, Kasabian, Placebo, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Kraftwerk, Sigur Rós and many others have performed on more than five stages set up during the festival.
