Riga restaurant “Vincents” – the best in Latvia, the second best in the Baltic States


For the second year in a row, Latvian restaurants have been included in the restaurant guide called “White Guide 2018”, which is popular in the Nordic countries and gradually gains popularity in the Baltic States. 

Last year, Latvia and Lithuania were represented in the guide “White Guide Nordic” for the first time, while Estonia had a couple of years of experience. This autumn, Baltic restaurants have become an integral part of the restaurant guide issued in the Nordic countries and are gathered on the website of the guide in “White Guide Baltic” section.

In total, 160 Baltic restaurants have been included in “White Guide Baltic 2018”. According to the publishers, in two years the number of the Baltic restaurants promoted by “White Guide” could reach 300 – 350.

Simultaneously with the symbolic opening of “White Guide Baltic 2018”, the 30 best restaurants of the Baltic States have been announced. We are especially proud and share our joy with Riga restaurant “Vincents”, which was recognized as the best in the Baltic States last year, while this year experts have put in the second position.

Restaurant “Kannas” located at Anna manor, Amatas District and three Riga restaurants – “Bibliotēka Nr.1”, “COD” and “Restorāns 3” – have also been mentioned among the best Latvian restaurants.

Overall, the following restaurants appear on “White Guide Baltic 2018” list of Latvian restaurants (alphabetic sequence): “Bibliotēka nr. 1”, “COD”, Dikļu manor restaurant, “Entresol”, “Ferma”, “Goldingen Room” (at Kuldīga), “Jonathan” (at Amatas District), “Kannas” (Amatas District), “Kolonāde”, “Le Dome”, “Laivas” (in Jūrmala), Liepupes manor restaurant, 36. līnija (in Jūrmala), “Locale”, Mālpils manor restaurant, “Mo” (in Liepāja) “Muusu”, “Per Se”, “Pļavas” (Ainažos), “Restorāns 3”, “Riits”, “Riviera”, “St. Petrus”, “3 pavāru restorāns”, Skrundas manor restaurant, Valmiermuižas beer brewery restaurant, “Valtera restorāns”, “Vīna studija”, “Vincents” and “Zoltners” (at Tērvetes Parish).

It should be noted that, unlike in the last year’s guide, this year the experts have become acquainted and highly appreciated higher number of restaurants located outside Riga.

Speaking in the symbolic guide opening event in Tallinn, Harri Hanson, representative of the publishers, stressed that this is the right moment to visit Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to enjoy outstanding food. Baltic restaurants have achieved excellent level and won’t disappoint even the most sophisticated gourmands.

Harri Hanson added that, apart from cuisine, trip to the Baltic States will give a number of other striking impressions.

Unlike in the last year’s edition, when “White Guide Nordic” with the Baltic States included was available in printed format, guide of 2018 will be available only electronically – on the homepage and in the mobile phone application. This is allegedly reaction to the modern age, when majority of the society prefer web sources.
