"airBaltic" is again acknowledged as the most punctual passenger airline in the world
In 2015, 94.39% of the airline’s flights arrived on time.
The Punctuality League 2015 elaborated by the aviation industry’s market research and analysis publication "OAG Aviation Solutions" (OAG) accorded first place for the second year in a row to the Latvian national airline “airBaltic”.
Second place was given to the Panama airline “Copa” where 91.69% of flights arrived on time, followed by the Brazilian operator “Azul” with 90.44%. Amongst the world’s most punctual airlines are four European companies - "airBaltic" (1st place), "Finnair" (6th place), "Austrian Airlines" (8th place) and "LOT Polish" (10th place).
The joint stock company “airBaltic” was founded in 1995. Its primary shareholder is the Latvian state. “airBaltic” unites the best traditional network airline and low cost operator practice. In 2008 the airline changed its activity model and became a network airline, Riga is now a popular and recognised transit conjunction between the West and the East.
The national airline provides flights from Riga to almost 60 destinations. “airBaltic” also effects flights from Vilnius and Tallinn.
