Daugavpils Museum of Regional History and Art

Daugavpils Museum of Regional History and Artis one of the oldest and largest museums in Latgale. It was founded in 1938 and is located in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city – an Art Nouveau monument of architecture built in 1883.

The mission of the Daugavpils Museum of Regional History and Art is the following: to collect, to preserve, to study and to popularise the exhibits of cultural history, art and nature of the Daugavpils County, thereby facilitating the awareness of the region’s cultural heritage and its contemporaneity alike, promoting interest and understanding of historical processes in the Daugavpils County, and instilling respect for spiritual heritage and traditions.
