On July 11, the Daugavpils Fortress will host the ninth historical reenactment festival, “Dinaburga 1812.”
The festival is dedicated to the events of the early 19th century, when the still‑unfinished fortress was attacked by the troops of French Emperor Napoleon, led by Marshal Nicolas Oudinot.
During the event, historical reenactment clubs will showcase military drills, period uniforms, replica weapons, and scenes from daily life in the garrison.
Visitors will have the chance to see not only brave soldiers, but also elegantly dressed ladies, gallant gentlemen, enjoy a festive market, refined musical performances, historical dances, street cafés, and various shows and activities.
