The theme of this year’s Talsi City Festival is “CITY OF THE FUTURE,” offering a chance to reflect on the city’s roots — the ancient land of the Curonians, its hillforts, beliefs, and traditions that have shaped the identity of Talsi and continue to influence the city and its people today.
During the tour, we’ll get to know Talsi not only as a pictures city built on nine hills, but also through its rich history in the ancient land of Vanema. While the city buzzes with festive energy, we’ll embark on an educational journey where creativity, nature, and ancestral customs come together into one special adventure:
- We’ll explore the world of ceramics at “Ciparnīca” and discover various plants at the Sun Lap workshop;
- We’ll immerse ourselves in the charm of Talsi and soak in the festive atmosphere at the gourmet square;
- We’ll take on a 10 km hike to Kamparkalns viewing tower — the highest point in Northern Kurzeme;
- We’ll walk the folklore trail “Jāņkalni” and enjoy a traditional Curonian meal for lunch!
The hike will take us from paved city streets to forest paths, making it perfect for all lovers of active outdoor adventures.
