The road to Bīriņi Pili leads along a scenic alley across the locks connecting two lakes. From here there is a wonderful view of the palace built in 1860 in the neo-Gothic style. It is a romantic, created with love place close to Riga, the picturesque Sigulda and the seaside of Saulkrasti.
Today, the palace houses a hotel, a restaurant and a SPA area, which is available to visitors throughout the year. Horse riding is also useful for recreation and health. The castle is surrounded by wonderful park walking paths and preserved historical objects and buildings for viewing. The extensive ensemble is a protected monument of national importance.
