As part of the celebrations marking Riga's 825th anniversary, on 15 August 2026 the Riga Motor Museum, in cooperation with Audi Tradition, Møller Auto, and RA Events, will bring to Latvia an exceptionally significant piece of automotive heritage – a meticulously crafted replica of the legendary 1936 Auto Union Type C V16 Grand Prix racing car from the Audi Museum in Germany.
The programme will begin with the car's official presentation at the Riga Motor Museum, followed by several demonstration laps at the Biķernieki Circuit, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026. From 10:30 to 11:30, the car will then take part in a ceremonial parade through the streets of Riga, culminating at the Freedom Monument.
The car will be driven by legendary Audi factory driver Dindo Capello, a three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
At the Freedom Monument, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the car up close, meet Dindo Capello in person, and receive his autograph on a commemorative autograph card throughout the day until 18:00.
